The University of Melbourne — Senior Research Ethics Officer & Research Ethics Advisor (2019 – Present)
At Australia’s leading research university, Felicity led and advised a team supporting five Animal Ethics Committees and hundreds of researchers.
She provided high-level guidance on complex ethical issues, coordinated training and compliance programs, and strengthened institutional governance and accountability frameworks.
Her leadership helped improve consistency across ethics operations and embed a proactive, transparent compliance culture within the research community.
CSIRO — Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness — Animal Research Ethics Coordinator (2019 – 2023)
At CSIRO’s high-containment research facility, Felicity was the sole ethics representative responsible for all Animal Ethics Committee operations.
She liaised with regulators, implemented new governance processes, and helped guide the institute through external audits by the Victorian state regulator.
Her strategic approach to risk management and training improved compliance outcomes and staff confidence during a critical national research period, including the early COVID-19 vaccine trials.
Monash University — Animal Ethics Officer (2018 – 2019)
Provided practical ethics advice to researchers and animal facility staff, coordinated training and committee meetings, and contributed to policy updates and systems development.
Her work supported the efficient functioning of one of Victoria’s largest research programs involving animal ethics review.
Earlier Roles
Felicity began her career supporting research ethics committees at the University of Technology Sydney and the University of the Sunshine Coast.
She also served as an Animal Ethics Committee Member at both UNSW and Macquarie University, giving her insight into governance from multiple institutional perspectives.
